I had the same problems you've had when it comes to communication...just because I'm an extrovert does NOT make me a communications pro. I had to learn this stuff....

If I've been told once, I've been told a million times that because I'm "outgoing" - that makes me a natural networker and communicator. NOT SO.

In fact, for years...I would meet people but never really connect with them in a strategic way. 

For years, I would take my extroverted personality and literally talk over people...not giving anyone else a chance to respond.

It was only until I took a leadership communication workshop 20 years ago that taught me about DISC and my communication style. DISC is a tool (much like Meyers Briggs or the Enneagram) that helps you understand the type of communicator you are AND how you come across to others.

It was during that time my eyes were opened...and I started to understand my own communication style and how I needed to tweak my messaging so it would land better with whomever I was talking to at the time.
