SUCCESS STORIES

WHO DOESN’T LOVE A GOOD PARTNERSHIP

The success stories of my clients is my reward! I’ve had the pleasure of working with some fabulous organizations over the years. If you’re looking for a vast array of experience from the coach you hire, look no further!

Western Avenue District

In 2001, I was the marketing director for a local Oklahoma City restaurant group. We had purchased a white tablecloth restaurant off of Western Avenue, and I was in charge of developing a marketing plan. We didn’t have a lot of money like most locally owned restaurants. So, I started researching the area and found that ALL the restaurants were locally owned as well. I had the idea of forming a restaurant association for Western Avenue and invited all the local restaurants to come to a meeting so I could pitch an idea of a restaurant row. The concept was pretty simple: if we could combine our marketing dollars as a collective group, we’d have more money to market the area.

Not only did the restaurants want in, phone calls started pouring in from local businesses and property owners in the area…they wanted to be a part of this idea too. That’s when the Western Avenue District was formed. Almost 20 years later, I’ve developed a business improvement district on Western Avenue that continues to reinvest dollars into the beautification, security and marketing of the area.

Broken Arrow Public Schools

Broken Arrow Public Schools is home to the largest high school in the state of Oklahoma. In December 2019, I had the opportunity to work with the district superintendent and her leadership team to launch a comprehensive college and career readiness initiative branded Project Pathways. Students are connected to a possible career path based on their personal interests, abilities and strengths as early as elementary school. My role was to build the launch plan, work with key team members to ensure messaging and branding was consistent, and plan the official launch with the local chamber of commerce.

Oklahoma Quality Foundation

The Oklahoma Quality Foundation is the stepping stone for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award. The Baldrige Award is the only formal recognition of performance excellence of both public and private U.S. organizations given by the President of the United States. This award is kind of like the Grammy Award of organizational excellence. I had the opportunity to work with high performing businesses and organizations in Oklahoma and helped guide them through the awards process…which was an extensive, highly rigorous process. During my tenure at the Foundation, I developed multiple funding streams for the organization, a statewide board of directors and launched various PR campaigns to promote our participating organizations. These organizations ranged from massive hospital systems to manufacturers to the career and technology education school system in Oklahoma.

Oklahoma State Department of Education

I worked as the Chief of Public Affairs and a cabinet level leader under the administration of State Superintendent Joy Hofmeister (2015-2019). I launched the administration’s initial strategic plan working with various departments in the agency and developed cross-functional teams to address the objectives we identified in our plan.
I led all public-facing, large-scale events which included the annual EngageOK educator professional development conference (6,000+ attendees), Oklahoma’s Teacher of the Year program, and more. I’m most proud of the trauma informed conferences I produced for educators statewide. I connected our school districts to resources by identifying and working with other government agencies, tribal partners, faith based organizations and statewide non-profit organizations. This was a first for the agency, and I couldn’t be more thrilled by the thousands of Oklahoma school children who benefited from their schools connecting with partners who provided countless resources.
